Blessed John XXIII National Seminary Announces New Optional Pre-Theology Program Starting Fall 2007
Our unique institution remains the only American seminary for older candidates that is administered by diocesan priests.
In addition to our four-year program offering a Masters in Divinity, we are pleased to announce our new Pre-Theology Program beginning in the Fall 2007 semester.
The optional Pre-Theology Program includes courses in philosophy and basic Catholic doctrine, as well as human, spiritual and pastoral formation for priestly ministry. This new program is an optional preparatory program for candidates whose Bishops or religious superiors deem it appropriate.
Pre-Theology Faculty Members
- Father Ronald J. Tacelli, S.J., is Associate
Professor of Philosophy at Boston College. He
has a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and is
the author of several books on Christian
philosophy.
- Dr. Leonard Maluf holds an S.S.L. from the
Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome and a S.T.L.
from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.
Father Raymond Van De Moortell holds a Ph.D.
from Stanford University and a Master of Library
Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
- Dr. Peter J. Kreeft Blessed John
XXIII National Seminary is proud
to feature distinguished Professor
of Philosophy Peter J. Kreeft on the
faculty of our new Pre-Theology
Program.
- Dr. Kreeft has been teaching at Boston College
since 1965 and is the author of over 45 books on
Christianity and Philosophy. He has a Ph.D. from
Fordham University and did post-graduate study
at Yale University.
